Taking your Snuff Practice to the Next Level
Shamanic snuff is a great tool for grounding, healing, opening up and transforming behavioral patterns, thought patterns and emotional patterns. To dedicate a snuff to a specific cause, your intent and the ceremony of taking snuff is a ancient and very powerful tool for changing your reality.
Besides this use, Rapé can be used as a vehicle on which the shaman rides across time and space, and beyond. By taking a, for the intent, appropriate Rapé or own blend, the shaman can focus on a non physical location, a deity, or an ancestor.
One of the most powerful techniques we've discovered is seeking contact with the plant spirit residing in snuff. The plant spirits of the different rapés and our own blends has become great allies and familiaris too us, guiding our spiritual journey. While exploring different plant spirits, we were surprised by the great difference between the spirits and their energies. Some trixters that invert ones conceptual world (illusions) to show us our self deceit, tought by the social context. Others clear nature spirits, alien to the human concept, has taught us about regeneration of energy by the shedding of symbolical leaves, which can be absorbed by our "roots". All hailing from their own reality with great lessons and wisdoms to offer.
The technique we use can be seen as both simple and complex, depending on your experience with astral traveling, energy raising, visualization and communication with spirits and deities. First we create a sacred space, banishing all other energies and purifying our selves. Then a rapé is selected and the intention that the whole working is about getting in contact with the plant spirit. Two large doses, one for each nostril is prepared. You should have familiarized with the snuff prior to the contact ceremony, so that you don't take too much, but still reach sort of you maximum amount. The snuff is then put in the kuripe (or tepi) and put to the forehead (ajna) and the physical eyes are closed. Then energy from the ground and the root chakra is drawn up through the spine on the inhale, continuing up through the top of the head and continuing to the center of the kosmos. On the out breath, energy from this source is drawn down through the infinite to the top of the head, continuing down the spine and out through the feet and where the body touches the ground.
While we continue to breath with this visualization, we feel our chakras and energy body activating. In our heart, we find our true vibration and send this pure energy to our third eye and into the kuripe, mixing our energy with the snuff with a humble message to the plant spirit "Hi, I'm [insert name] and would like to get in contact with the spirit residing in this sacred snuff". Then the snuff is taken, followed by a very short version of the snuff for the second nostril. We continue to breath in the same manner, but the visualization is released to only a energetic kinetic sensation (self sustaining feedback loop). The physical and mundane awareness is released, to embark on a visual journey and giving the plant spirit the visual space, so it can communicate with us.
The contact is both very subtle and direct. If not used to this types of contact, it can be hard to distinguish between the spirit and the shamans own thoughts. Relaxing and not seeking, rather let it happen, is the way to go. For us, clear visions appear. A astral world that can be entered where the plant spirit is met. Some spirits communicate through our memory, and all that surfaces during such a working is of interest. The journey is, from a physical view quite short. When returning the spirit should be thanked, and some incenses can be sacrificed (burnt) to in its name. We often take about 20 minutes digesting the experience, contemplating new insights and incorporating them with our current configuration. It's a good practice writing down all results, which then becomes a gate it self to the spirit written about.
Though some experiences with the plant spirits in the rapé have been quite intense and the spirit has taken us far beyond our comfort zone, all spirits have guided us through the experience and broght us back with lots of new insights, wonderful experiences and expanded our universe. And, the spirits have becomes great friends and allies on our spiritual path.
Below are some experiences shortly described to a project of presenting snuffs and our experiences with their plant spirits, which will be part of the webshops information at a later stage. They are included in this text as a key to the technique, inspiration and a hint on whak kind of results that can be experienced.

"A strong rapé that centers and activates the user and bless him/her with a vision and awareness from a higher perspective.
A gray rapé with a slightly sweet aroma of rose hips and hints of cinnamon, which remains in the taste experience when snuffed. The initial rush is strong and sweeps like wildfire across the top of the head and face. It is an insidious snuff which physical and ethereal effects creep on the user. At higher doses, watering eyes and burning effect in the face and head creeps faster, but at a clearly manageable level. While the user does not really know how intense the physical effect will creep up to, the plant spirit comes closer and closer. The plant spirit is a nature spirit, more specifically a forest spirit from the higher hierarchies. It envelops the user with a transparent leaf that forms a protective sphere. Once in the sphere the plant spirit lifts the user from the ground up in the trees' foliage, who’s leaves caress and purifies the user, becomes more relaxed and receptive to plant spirit's gift. After a minute the user penetrates the foliage and breaks out above rainforest canopy, wherein all is viewed from a greater perspective. Time and space, the framework, the big picture and the details, the art and the beauty of the creation it self. So incredibly simple and complex at the same time. Here, above the treetops, afflicting over the plains, illuminated by the sun and caressed by the wind, the user reaches the highest states for moment. Like the Buddha's awakening under the tree.
A perfect rapé to illuminate life from a higher perspective, like awakening from the mundane dream. But not by dissociation, rather a broader picture and thus a deepening the mystery. After the trip the user islowered through the canopy again, returning to the ground. Now with a broader perspective and consciousness that can be carried in the everyday life."

A light gray rapé with a light sweet scent of hay and a hint of rose hips, which remains in the taste experience when snuffed. The initial rush is very strong, sweeping directly over the top of the head and face. At larger doses the physical sensation is like running into a wall wich throws the user in a state beyond time and space, a strong disruption and movement of the assemblage point. If the user is not familiar with this shamanic state then smaller doses should be used until these realms are explored successively. While the nose is exploding, scalp burns, face melts and tears flow, the user meets the plant spirit this powerful rapé. A trixter of rank that spoofs and plays with the user in classical sacred clown manner. All that which is so important and serious, even holy is turned upside down and derided from the plant spirits point of view. The plant spirit appears in the form of a monkey swinging about in the user's conceptual world of symbols and words, which can be experienced as very unpleasant. But the purpose is to show that these structures are of illusory nature, which when realized sends the user to the heart and gets his/her energy centers to pulse with the life force. The apelike and mischievous nature of the plant spirit and its gift of opening the heart reminiscent of the Hindu god Hanuman.
A perfect snuff to pull the rug from under ones own feet to stumble around in the time-space continioum and turn inside out ideas, structures and behavioral, mental and emotional patterns. After the trip, centering the user in his/her heart, powerfully vibrating with the energy of the higher self - lifted, strengthened and grateful, ready to take on the holy mission."

"A mild rapé at low and middle doses, but quite strong at high. The rapé opens a gateway to the higher self and the golden child inherent in the human vessel. It grounds, centers, and shows the simplicity of existence in all its complexity.
A light brown rapé with a very sweet and fruity aroma with clear hints of cinnamon. When snuffed the taste lingers which color the experience with the same sweetness. At low and medium doses, it is a mild rapé grounding and centering the user, but in larger doses, watering eyes and a burning rush in the face that spreads all over the head. The burning sensation is much longer than from other rapés. At higher doses it creates the sensation of an astral shell around the user. When the shell solidifies, the plant spirit emerges who is a spirit of the earth element. It shows that the shell is a seed and creates a small crack in the shell of the seed so that the seed can sprout and begin to grow. The germ grows vigorously and quickly from the user's energy center in the heart, with roots down into the lower energy centers, the stem up through the neck, the leaves at the third eye and finally flowering on top of the user's head. The user has completely transformed into a flower. Blessed with life-giving energy and light from above, lightly swaying in the wind, drawing energy and nutrients from the soil where old leaves are decomposing. The user merges with the essence of existence and its simplicity through the journey and the help of the plant spirit, which grounds, purifies and centers. In this flower form, the user gets in touch with his/her true frequency and becomes aware of other plants and animals on this symbolic meadow. The flower form allows the user to more easily let go of wilted leaves and let the energy in them be absorbed by the roots and get the flower to grow and expand.
