Just as with the Tibetan ceremony bell, the tinshas can be used to clearly mark for ourselves and the conscious environment that we start and end a ceremony. Thus comes in and out of a sacred context, where every word, action, thought and feeling is manifested and strengthened.
If the ceremonial bell is used to begin and end a major ceremony, the tingshas can be used to mark the different parts of the ceremony. For example before and after specific deities are called or in conjunction with words of power and affirmations. Often used in yoga and at kirtans.
