Background
Palo Santo, which means holy tree/sacred wood, is a naturally fragrant South American tree used for the purification of places, people and objects. The tree Bursera graveolens belongs to the Burseraceae family, sometimes known as the Copal family, including Copal, Frankincense and Myrrh. Palo Santo has been used for centuries by the Inca as a spiritual remedy for cleansing, purifying and banishing evil spirits, bad luck, negative flows and calamity. When Palo Santo is burned a calm fills the room, tension drops and those present come closer to their heart and true frequency.
Our Palo Santo was harvested under the supervision of the Peruvian Government, with the help from the indigenous tribes around the Amazon River. The trees that can be several hundred years are protected and the harvests are from self-fallen branches. The fallen branches are considered sacred by the tribal peoples, and this harvest is an ancient tradition preserved in our Palo Santo.

Fragrance
Palo Santo from this Peruvian Bursera graveolens has a grounding tree scent as a base, a warm and mellow mid note and a fresh and sweet top note. Together, they create an aromatic symphony that is unique to Palo Santo. The fragrance calms, cleans and opens us.
Use & Magical Properties
A Palo Santo stick is easy to carry and use since it's lit with any flame. A new stick also smells strongly without ignition.
The 60 ml pot with powdered Palo Santo wood is easily used by putting a pinch on a lit charcoal disc. This form is equally good as a solitary incense, as an ingredient in self made incense mixtures. Also a good ingredient for potpourri, scent boxes and mojo bags.
Set fire to the end of the stick and extinguishing shortly after to release the fragrant smoke. It can be used as a preparation to meditations, sacrificial smoke to deities or smudging of people, places and objects. Ideal to carry and use when negative and undesirable energies are found within oneself or ones surroundings.
